CONSULTATION
Consultation can be very helpful for clients and families who aren’t quite sure what their next steps should be. Using a consultation model on an hourly basis, you can speak with an experienced mental health clinician to talk it through and get pointed in the right direction.
Consultation sessions are conducted in-person or via telehealth. Telemedicine makes it easier and more convenient to stay connected and increases access via a secure portal.
How Does a Consultation Work?
After you call to schedule your initial 60 or 90 minute consultation, you will be sent intake paperwork for completion via our secure portal. You will receive a confirmation email with some simple instructions and, if telehealth is requested, a secure, HIPAA compliant Zoom video link that you will use for your meeting.
Prior to your appointment we require all intake paperwork to be complete and ask that you send any previous evaluation reports or other records for review. This will be reviewed in detail by the clinician prior to your visit.
During your consultation, the clinician will take the time to listen closely and review your concerns and the history you provided on intake. Depending on the needs identified, the clinician may recommend specialized testing, make referrals to other providers or services in the community, provide resources and recommendations for use at home, or make other personalized recommendations to help you with next steps on the journey.
